Program Advisory Board

The Advisory Board for the Bachelors in Health Services Program is a collaborative body composed of accomplished professionals, academics, and community leaders from a wide range of disciplines both outside and within VCU. Its mission is to provide strategic guidance, industry insight, and interdisciplinary perspectives that enhance the quality, relevance, and impact of our undergraduate curriculum.

The board serves as a vital link between the academic program and the broader professional and community landscape. The board helps ensure that the program remains responsive to evolving workforce trends/needs, student concerns, and societal challenges. We are thankful for their continued service as the program develops and evolves.

Key functions of the board include:

  • Advising on curriculum development to align with real-world applications and emerging opportunities;
  • Offering feedback on program goals, learning outcomes, and student skill development;
  • Supporting experiential learning opportunities, including internships, projects, and mentorship;
  • Assisting in building external partnerships and community engagement.

The Advisory Board meets multiple times throughout the academic year to provide support and guidance to the BSHS program, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas that promotes innovation, excellence, and student success.
