Carly Croft is an experienced graduate medical education administrator and educator specializing in program leadership, curriculum development, and learner well-being. She holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Leadership, expected May 2026.

In her role as a Graduate Medical Education Program Administrator at VCU Health, Carly oversees operations for ACGME-accredited residency and undergraduate medical education programs, ensuring accreditation compliance and facilitating innovative educational strategies. She leads program evaluation committee meetings, supports trainee wellness initiatives, and manages faculty development programming.

Carly brings extensive clinical experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist, with over a decade in ophthalmic patient care, clinical education, and administration. She has designed and delivered training programs for ophthalmic personnel, developed exam preparation resources, and contributed to interprofessional education initiatives.

As adjunct faculty in the College of Health Professions, Carly teaches a foundational course on allied health professions, emphasizing professionalism, cultural humility, and interprofessional collaboration. She actively mentors students and teaching assistants, fostering academic success and reflective learning.

Her professional service includes leadership roles with the American Academy of Ophthalmic Professionals (AAOP) and the Virginia Society of Ophthalmic Medical Personnel (VSOMP), where she directs continuing education programs and contributes to national educational standards. Carly also serves on VCU’s Graduate Medical Education Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Wellness subcommittees.

Her scholarly interests focus on leadership in medical education, learner engagement, and the development of accessible training tools to enhance health professions education.
