Health Care Change Leadership courses build skills in Decision Making, Innovative Thinking, Leadership, Problem Solving and Project Management

Learners refine these skills through case-based projects, problem analysis, and designing and presenting solutions that mirror real-world healthcare challenges.

Curriculum

The six 3-credit courses (18 total) introduce learners to strategies and practices for leading and communicating change, with assignments that allow them to apply these skills in their professional context. Courses include:

  • ALHP 300 – Communication Strategies in Health Services
    Explore principles of effective communication essential for teamwork, collaboration, and creating buy-in when leading change.
  • ALHP 380 – Healthcare Decision Making and Change Models
    Learn frameworks to analyze complex situations and evaluate solutions.
  • ALHP 382 – Change Leadership in Healthcare
    Develop agency, challenge the status quo, and shape your leadership path.
  • ALHP 384 – Overcoming Resistance to Change in Healthcare
    Learn strategies to overcome barriers and implement meaningful improvements.
  • ALHP 486 – Healthcare Stewardship
    Apply ethical stewardship and leadership responsibility in change scenarios.
  • ALHP 488 – Healthcare Innovation Think Tank
